Museum & Exhibition Lighting
Architectural Lighting

The Queenscliff Historical Museum, designed by Kerstin Thompson Architects, is a new addition to the Queenscliff Community Hub project. The museum is dedicated to showcasing the area’s rich history, and our lighting design is integral to bringing that history to life.

One of the key aspects of our design is its flexibility. It allows for different layouts for future exhibitions, ensuring that the museum can adapt to the ever-changing needs of the community. This flexibility is achieved through the use of a track system that can easily be reconfigured to suit different exhibits.

To highlight the perimeter walls of the gallery, we employed a wall washing technique to perfectly distribute light across the walls, creating a warm and inviting ambience that showcases the museum's exhibits. Narrow beam spotlights are used throughout to draw attention to specific items, while wall washers highlight perimeter exhibits.

It all comes together with Casambi control to pre-program scenes for gallery mode, presentation mode, or cleaning/maintenance mode. This enables museum staff to seamlessly switch between various light settings depending on the current activity, ensuring all exhibits are continuously displayed in the best possible light.

A harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics, our lighting design for the Queenscliff Historical Museum will enhance its value for the community for generations to come.
